Cancer & Mental Health

A Conversation with Christine Merrill, MSW

Christina Merrill

Imagine getting a cancer diagnosis and feeling completely alone… overwhelmed, unsure who to turn to, and facing bills and appointments you never imagined.

That’s the reality for so many patients, but today - we have the great opportunity to talk with a woman who has spent her life making sure no one has to go through it alone.

Christina Merrill is the founder and CEO of the Bone Marrow & Cancer Foundation. She started this incredible organization back in 1992 after seeing, as a young social worker, just how many hurdles cancer patients face—not just the disease itself, but the emotional, financial, and practical challenges that come with it.

From personally helping patients cover co-pays to creating the CancerBuddy app that connects survivors, patients, and caregivers, Christina has built a community that offers hope, guidance, and real support.

And the best part? Every single service they provide is completely free.

Let’s go inside the Wellspace with Christina Merrill
