Melinda Gong
Melinda Gong is the co-founder of Sol Health, a human-centered mental health platform reimagining what therapy can feel like, who it’s for, and how accessible it truly is.
Melinda’s work lives at the intersection of lived experience and systems-level change. Her path into mental health began early, through body awareness and discipline as a ballet dancer, through a deep curiosity about human flourishing, and through personal loss that forced her to confront grief, shame, and unanswered questions far too young.
Her story includes navigating a broken mental health system firsthand, watching loved ones struggle with depression, OCD, and suicide, and later seeing how even elite institutions fail students in moments of crisis. A four-month wait for counseling. Nowhere to turn. No help when it mattered most.
That lived experience became her calling.
Today, Melinda is tackling one of the most urgent and overlooked issues in mental health: the nationwide shortage of therapists, and what happens when the people meant to help are themselves underpaid, unsupported, and burning out.
Through Sol Health, she’s building a space where therapists can thrive, patients feel genuinely seen and safe, and care feels less clinical and more human. A space rooted in connection, warmth, and the belief that there is nothing “wrong” with you—and that healing happens in relationship.
Our goal today is simple but powerful: to give you language, insight, and tools, so you feel more empowered to care for yourself and the people you love.
